Mu Chapter Brother Killed in Crash


CHAPEL HILL, NC -- Mu Beta Psi, National Honorary Musical Fraternity, mourns one of their own.

Brother Danielle Elizabeth Liotta died Saturday, June 2, 2007, as a result of an automobile accident. She was 19.

Danielle, known as "Madi" to her friends and "Life Saver" to her Brothers, was a Spring 2007 Initiate of Mu Chapter at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. She was an active clarinet player in the UNC Marching Tar Heels and later in the University Band.

Danielle was pursuing a double major in biology and chemistry and had just completed her EMT certification.

Aside from her involvement in Mu Beta Psi and the UNC Bands, she was also involved on campus with the Public Service Scholars, Agape, and Academic Enhancement program.

"Danielle was a wonderful friend and Brother," says fellow Mu Brother Mary Buchanan. "She will be deeply missed."

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 6. Cavin-Cook Funeral Home in Mooresville, Danielle's hometown, is assisting the family with arrangements.
